Minnesota Marriage License (includes information of premarital education)
A marriage license must be applied for in person. Only one of the parties is required to be present and complete the application. To obtain a marriage license you must be 18 years of age. You must know the following information for both parties:
- Full names
- Addresses
- Dates of birth
- State or foreign country where each person was born
- Counties where each person lives
- Social security numbers
- The names the bride and groom want after marriage
- If previously married, the date (mm/dd/yy) the last marriage was terminated
- If previously married, the city, county and state where the marriage was terminated
- If one or both parties have a felony conviction on or after August 1, 2000
- $70.00* without premarital education
- $20.00* with completed and signed Statement of Premarital Education Form (required at the time of marriage application)
- Payment for license is payable at the time of application
*At least 12 hours of premarital education that included the use of a premarital inventory and the teaching of communication and conflict management skills be given by a licensed or ordained minister, a person authorized to solemnize marriages under Minnesota Statutes, Section 517.18, or a person licensed to practice marriage and family therapy under Minnesota Statutes, Section 148B.33.
In the state of Minnesota there is a five-calendar-days waiting period after you apply for the license before the marriage may take place. The license must be used within six months, and may be used anywhere in Minnesota.

Actual Ceremony, Rehearsal & The Wedding
Ceremony
Each ceremony is customized to the desires of the bride and groom.
Rehearsal
A rehearsal is a excellent idea. I will personally attend and conduct your rehearsal. There is no extra cost to you.
Wedding Day
I will arrive 60 minutes prior to the wedding. Review wedding elements with ushers, photographer, musicians, etc.
You will have so many wonderful things to think about on your wedding day - so it is reassuring and comfortable to know exactly what to expect from your officiant!
